Kindergarten Life Skills

Posted by on Apr 23, 2009 in Business, Fun, Life, People | 0 comments

A long time ago I found this piece on life skills for kindergarten and the office. It was funny but true in so many ways. Isn’t it sad how our maturity and wisdom don’t also grow in terms of overcoming selfishness and insecurity. Doing a ‘google’ on it I found it was previously written by Robert Fulghum. His book by the same title dominated the New York Times best seller list in 1989 and through much of 1990. All I Ever Really Needed to Know I Learned in Kindergarten by Robert Fulghum Most of what I really need to know about how to live, and what to do, and how to be, I learned in...

Back on 10th November 2004 I saw this devotional on www.word4U2day.com.au I printed it out and tucked it away. I saw the printout recently and with the launch of the new website for word4U2day I thought it was a good reminder for us all. If you haven’t registered yet then visit the new website and sign up. Wednesday, 10 November 2004 Help, God – the bottom has fallen out!… Psalm 130:1 TMIf you burn the candle at both ends, you aren’t as bright as you think! Come down on security pat down

Let’s start by saying I don’t know why today was different. I’ve been pulled out and bag checked numerous times in different countries and while an inconvenience, you put up with it. But when you are taken aside to a covered area by two people, one to chemical test your bag and clothes for explosive chemical residue and the other to do a front and back pat down, it can be intimidating....

I have had a great deal of respect for the creative team behind the EDS Superbowl ads. They did a great job of explaining the inherent difficulties in upgrading or transitioning between technologies while trying to keep a business ‘in the air’....

Focus & Clag

I have just been getting back into the swing of work after what feels like a month of illness. I’ve been off work for about a week and not been well while travelling on business over three trips in the last month. The Doctor has kindly had me on various medications that make me rattle like a baby’s toy but at least its knocked some of the major symptoms on the head. Before all this took place I wrote on a whiteboard in my office the simple word ‘Focus’. It was one of those cathartic moments where I just wanted to get myself back on track. Since that time a lot has...

Custom T-shirts

Custom T-Shirts – Design T-Shirts Online – T-Shirt Screen Printing Isn’t this a great idea. Whether you are after that one crème de la crème T-Shirt or something that the whole rugby team can use, this is the site for you. The online art and text composition tool is well worth a play just to see what potential is in this site and the ideas of creative design. All in all a good idea that I heard about from Seth Godin who promoted it in his blog due to the concept of the ‘pleasant surprise’. Check out what happened when Seth went to order T-Shirts for...
